On the morning of March 29th 2008 communities will be gathering at four starting points in Baltimore City to participate in a productive and symbolic action, sweeping the debris of the sidewalks towards the center of the city. We will be accompanied by four local marching bands, creating a driving energy to celebrate a collective effort in BMORE. This is an open platform event. Participants are encouraged to bring their own culture, dress, colors, and dance. Make costumes or form groups to parade with. We will collect our daily waste and concentrate our physical, social and conscious energies on the conditions of our streets while working together to effect change. At the end of the parade there will be a ceremony for the sweep and a receptions for the MICA exhibit Beyond the Compass Beyond the Square. Please come and celebrate with us and remember. All Participants will receive a free pass to the Walters Art Museum special exhibit, MAPS: Finding our Place in the World, open 3/16 thru 6/8.
